Reports Supplied with UniRes

Reports are printed by the UniRes program using Report Form files. For every report there are two files with the same name, but the files have different file extension names.

Example

Arrears Report.FRT and Arrears Report.FRX

Most of the reports have an equivalent "generic print form" file for use by dot matrix printers and the generic windows printer driver. The generic equivalent reports have the same name as the normal Graphic Printer report form file, but with the word "generic" in the file name.

Example

Arrears Report generic.FRT and Arrears Report generic.FRX

Location of Report Form Files

When UniRes is first installed, all the report files are placed in the C:\CPBS\Reports folder. (The Drive and installation path may vary as you can specify where UniRes is installed.

User Definable Report File Location

Initially, when UniRes is installed, the Location of Report Form Files is a relative path. ie. "Look in the folder relative to the current folder" and the folder specified is .\Reports (the .\ is a relative path indicator). It doesn't matter then where you install UniRes, the report forms can always be found. See: File Maintenance - Company File Maintenance.  Also refer to File Maintenance - System Access - Print Form Locations - Receipt Form Name.

Multi-User Installations

Report From files can be located anywhere on the network and be accessed by UniRes when a report needs to be printed as long as the Print Form Locations path is set to the Mapped Network drive. Report Form File can also be duplicated at the local workstation PC and the path set locally at the workstation. See previous paragraph.

Modifying Reports

If you have modified any report using the Report Designer (the Customize facility in Report Options), be sure to keep a copy of the report form (both .FRT and .FRX files) on a disk or a special folder so you can restore the reports when updating your reports from a UniRes Support distribution.
