How to find your ISP's SMTP server.


SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the mechanism used to send Email. The SMTP server resides on your ISP's (Internet Service Provider) computer.


When you initially setup your email or internet connection, you will have received your SMTP address for outgoing email.


It usually looks something like mail.bigpond.net.au.


To find you email account setup ...


OutLook  ...


If you use Microsoft Outlook as your email program.

oOpen Outlook

oFrom the Menu Bar in Outlook select Tools.

oThen Select Account Settings.

oClick once on your defauly mail account to highlight it.

oClick on the Properties Button.




The Outgoing Mail address is what you need to write down and use in UniRes. Of course, your Mail address will probably be different to the one shown in the above example.



OutLook

If you use Outlook or a different mail client, the SMTP server address can be found in a similar way.
