Once you have setup your Internet connection and have used the Send Email Setup program in UniRes to "talk" to the Internet Email system, you can send Emails directly from UniRes.

Internet Firewalls

An Internet firewall is a program designed to keeps hackers out and personal data in. It automatically hide your PC on the Internet and blocking suspicious connections.

Internet Firewalls allow you to selectively grant access to and from your computer from inside programs like UniRes, or external programs running on distant computers.

If you are running a Firewall program, you may need to configure it to allow UniRes to access the Internet.

Client - Server

Client Software is software that starts a computer conversation with another program.

Server Software

The "other" program, if it can talk to many programs of the same type, is usually called a "Server". It's a server, because it "serves" acts on instructions and serves data upon request.
