We suggest you install the Evolution Boom Gate Software before configuring UniRes for operation with CS Technologies Gate Controllers. Once installed and the Gates are working, you can either ...
•Enter all the cards first in the advent User data base, export the data as a USERS.CSV file and then import the users into UniRes or ....
•You can leave the advent Users file empty and enter the users and key information into the User Access Card Register in UniRes. This is quicker and probably the better method.
Enabling the Boom Gate Interface
Select File Maintenance - System Settings - Access Control Setup
The following screen is displayed ...
Controller Type
At present, UniRes only supports one controller type. More controllers will probably be added in due course.
Enable Access Control (Tick Box)
Place a tick in this box to let UniRes know that the Advent Interface is ready to accept Card activations and other commands from UniRes. Removing the tick will stop Unires from "talking" to the Advent software.
Advent or Evolution Software Path
Set the path to the one shown in the example or use the Locate button to set the path of the advent software on a network.
Advent must have first been installed before activating the interface.
Export Control File
This should always be set to unilock.dat .
Default Card Type
Set the type of readers you have use with you installation. (Key/Card or PIN pads)
Default Access Level
Set to 1 for Full Access.
Transaction File
Set the same as the above example. Use the Locate button f the advent software in elsewhere. The file name should always be UNIDATA.TXT . The transaction file contains text data in CSV format and is used by UniRes to display entry and Exit requests. (See Overview)
Note: Advent has been replaced by Evolution in name.
If Advent is configured properly as outlined in Installing Advent Software, when a card is issued from the UniRes card register, Advent will create the User automatically, adding it to its own User database.
When a Card is removed from a booking, the card details are removed from advent, but the card and imprint/credential is not removed, so a card database is built up in Advent over time as cads are issued through UniRes.
Access Levels
UniRes uses the default CS Tech access levels of 0 and 1. 0 (zero) meaning no access and 1 meaning access card is enabled for full access. Other default access levels can be set in UniRes to match the access level codes in Advent.
The User Card Register in UniRes.
The User Card Register is a database file with one record for each card in the system. Cards are assigned to a booking at time of booking. Use the User card Register window to Add, Edit and Delete Cards from UniRes and the Advent database of Users.
To start the User card Register program ... See Overview help topic .

Hex Imp (Input).
If the card key has a stamped number (usually consisting of letters and numbers), tick this box before entering the Key Number. UniRes will convert the number to the decimal equivalent.

No entry or change required here.
If the card has been reserved by the Site Number record (see File Maintenance Site Numbering - Access Interface area)
, a reserved status is ticked here automatically.
Reserved Keys are automatically allocated to a booking when a site is booked. eg. Room Keys at hotels or cabins with Key readers instead of normal keys etc.

A picture file can be linked to the Card record for visual recognition of the card holder.
Use the :ocate button to locate the picture to display with the card record.
