Using the Hard Disk as the Backup Device

Parent Previous Next

You can set the Default Backup device to the computer local hard disk drive and select a folder to backup to.

We do not recommend that you use the local hard disk as your permanent backup device. If your hard disk fails, you can loose all your data, including the backups.

When to use the Local Hard Disk as the Backup device.

If you want to make a quick "temporary" backup of your data for any reason ...maybe ..

1.Upgrading your UniRes program

1.Just want to test something in UniRes

2.Your CDRW drive is faulty etc.

You can change the default backup device drive and path to the local hard disk.

Change the original "permanent" backup drive and path back again when you have completed repairs, upgrades etc.
